Embrace the End...

We’re coming to the end of the intuitive writing series. For the next few weeks, I’ll choose cards from the African American Tarot deck as a prompt for my blog posts. Let’s see what spiritual insight I come up with!

9 of Wands + The World

You’ve been through the storm. You’ve endured hardship after hardship. What could go wrong, has gone wrong. And yet you are still standing. Due to the pain of the past you are on the offensive. Waiting for a repeat performance of past disappointments. You are battle tested and weary. The warrior in you stands tall, waiting to defend its territory. The end of this cycle is approaching. Embrace the end. The fight and struggle you’ve become so accustomed to is passing away. You can let down your guard. You no longer have to anticipate the the worst. Things are shifting for the better. Allow yourself to lighten up. Be vulnerable. Open your heart. All is well.

Being a TRUE follower of Ifa

In December of 2015, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I boarded a plane to Lagos, Nigeria and it was there, in the middle of the night, that I found myself. My whole, true essence was called forth by the process of initiation into Orisa. A powerful, body numbing energy came over me. It knocked me down. It was some time before I was able to get up. That energy was Oya. I am a follower of the Ifa tradition. Ifa is the practice of good/gentle character. Ifa is a spiritual tradition and way of life that holds its practitioners accountable. My job is Ifa. My destiny is Ifa. I am grateful.

On this episode of My Orisha Journey, Day Dream Alston/Oyabunmi discusses what it takes to be a TRUE follower of Ifa.

Welcome To My New Website!

Greetings and welcome to my new website!

It was about 6 years ago that I began to feel pulled towards sharing my voice, my wisdom and insights. I started my first blog which eventually led to the writing of my first book.

I didn't realize at the time that I was setting off on a journey of self discovery and self appreciation. My journey has been filled with joy, doubt and troubles. I am grateful for it all.

Today I welcome you. If you are reading these words, you have become a part of my journey. If you are reading these words, you are alive and treading your own path towards the fulfillment of destiny. Embrace your path and all that you find within each step. If you are unhappy about anything you come across change your course. Live fully, without fear. Heal. Live like this is your last moment. Laugh, play, love. You are worthy of wholeness. You are worthy.
